Internal Coder (Contractor)

Internal Coder (Contractor Position)

As part of the Apixio internal coding team, the coder will perform duties related to

medical coding and other tasks as assigned by the Apixio Coding Manager. The coder must be able to fulfill a minimum of 20 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week of work related assignments. The coder will be working remotely, but may be required to travel to the main office from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews coding opportunities assigned to them by Coding Manager for validation of Coder Work Items submitted.
  • Maintains logs of all work performed and submits logs daily to the Coding Director/Manager
  • Provides assistance and support to Coding Director/Manager on various clinical coding related assignments
  • Provides their expertise and knowledge in relation to clinical coding, as needed, in various assignments

Data Integrations/EHR Specialist

Within the Apixio customer operation organization the data integration specialist is responsible for successful acquisition, mapping and loading of customer data into the primary Apixio ETL pipelines. In addition, data integrations specialists are responsible for reporting on project data status, creating reporting tools and developing ad hoc reports to support customer engagements. For many projects, Apixio is directly extracting data from customer’s Electronic Health Record system.  The EHR Specialist role is the primary resource that coordinates efforts between internal resources and customers in support of custom integration development.  Apixio’s data integration EHR specialists are hybrid technology and consulting resources that have strong technology, communications and management skills and are key to successful customer onboarding and project success.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate customers on their responsibilities, data requirements and delivery schedules required for a successful project execution
  • Manage all data aspects of a customer engagement from initial contact, data receipt, map and load data into Apixio databases and final project reporting
  • Coordinate with customer in order to manage expectations and timelines
  • Develop and refine queries and other methods used to extract data from EHR systems
  • Communicate data integrity status to customers using strong customer service skills
  • Perform necessary data mapping and transformation to prepare for validation and loading
  • Validate complete delivery of data by customer and complete and verify all mapping into the Apixio system
  • Communicate with project stakeholders to ensure project timeline integrity
  • Work closely with the engineering team to develop new tools and methods for data ingest and integration of new systems
  • Create and modify documentation related to integrations to ensure that processes are sustainable and repeatable

Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge of ETL techniques and data integration tools like Informatica Cloud. In addition, programming skills in one or more languages like Shell, Python, SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio, or Oracle RDBMS are essential. Experience working within multiple operating system environments is a plus.
  • Fluency with healthcare data is required. Candidate must have experience acquiring and mapping healthcare data between systems and be knowledgeable of file layouts and structures and one or more electronic health record systems like Epic, NextGen, Allscripts or Centricity.  Alternatively, candidates should have experience with querying and transforming data from any type of relational database-backed system.
  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with EHR database structure, APIs, and querying databases. Knowledge of the Medicare Advantage market and related healthcare file formats like 837 and RAPS/RAPS Return is desired.
  • Candidate must have the strong communication skills necessary to relay complex data integration requirements to team members and customers.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills are essential. The candidate will be expected to manage the data mapping and integration work on multiple projects working with project managers, customers and engineering teams.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently when needed, applying critical thinking and problem solving to achieve a positive outcome.

Product Manager – Risk Adjustment Applications

This is a critical role for Apixio and it will be an exciting and challenging role for the right candidate. Product managers are the owners of our product vision and are tasked with leveraging our artificial intelligence capabilities to solve some of healthcare’s most important and difficult challenges.

We will be asking you to:

  • Define and maintain product strategy for Apixio risk adjustment applications
  • Conduct user research to identify, understand and capture the needs and motivations of Apixio’s risk adjustment customers
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate and prioritize feature candidates to continually improve the capabilities of Apixio risk adjustment applications
  • Create and maintain Apixio risk adjustment applications roadmap (using Aha!), revise and republish on quarterly basis
  • Creation of feature Epics and Stories (in JIRA) with enough detail such that they can be passed over to the engineering team for development
  • Work with Apixio engineering team to plan, monitor and report on development schedule
  • Work with Apixio user experience team to ensure Apixio risk adjustment applications provide a compelling and efficient user experience for our customers
  • Help test that the completed product does what the customer needed it to do
  • Coordinate with the Apixio Operations team to ensure that they are adequately prepared in advance of new releases of the risk adjustment application

Customer Success Manager

The Apixio Customer Success Manager is part of the Apixio Customer Operations organization and is responsible for successful completion of all customer projects. The team coordinates efforts between internal resources and customers in support of custom risk adjustment projects and reports on project status to all stakeholders.  Apixio’s Customer Success Managers are hybrid project management and consulting resources that have strong healthcare industry knowledge combined with communications and project management skills. The are key to successful customer retention and project success.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the Apixio relationship with the customer ensuring that they receive the best possible result delivery, service and support.

 

  • Manage coordination, tracking and reporting of all things related to customer projects.
  • Lead (coordinate, motivate and facilitate) the efforts of associated project resources working closely with all internal teams including: data integrations, coding management, engineering, sales, and executive teams.

  • Develop and execute contractual agreements for Apixio solutions with Medicare Advantage and Commercial Risk health plans.
  • Consistent prospecting within assigned territory to ensure that Apixio is in the mix to compete for all buying decisions.
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycle activities and deal contracting process.
  • Serve as the tip of the spear coordinating activities across Apixio, technical, clinical, and legal.
  • Implement the strategies and business plans necessary to attain the net sales growth objectives.
